LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

We exist to grow and guide aspiring leaders in their faith with God and their role in ministry.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Tahoe Resident Leadership Program is is set in one of the most beautiful places on the planet and is part of Tahoe Forest Church. We love to make people feel at home and supported when they are part of our community. We say Love Lives Here, and we mean it. We foster a healthy culture where everyone plays important roles.

Our vision is to become a nationally recognized Christian leadership program that invests in developing the next generation of leaders. We are interested in students looking to broaden their life experience, deepen their spiritual walk, and have an interest in vocational ministry. Residents receive close one-to-one mentorship from pastors, staff, and spiritual mentors. The program is tailored to the skill sets and interests of the residents and each resident completes a capstone project that contributes to the Church community.

FAQs

1. Who is an outstanding candidate?

Our applicants are 18-25 years old and are either recent high school graduates, current college students, or college graduates. Strong candidates desire vocational skill training in a ministry setting and are typically young adults that have some ministry experience on a church staff, and have demonstrated a potential for leadership.

2. Does the Tahoe Resident Leadership Program provide housing?

Yes! We have a beautiful home overlooking the mountains and river that we provide to our resident leaders. Five to six residents live in the house.

3. Can I work and still be a resident leader at the same time?

The Tahoe Residential Leadership Program offers participants a wide range of opportunities, mentoring, skill training, collaborative learning, and spiritual growth that will certainly require the majority of participants energy and time. However, we also recognize the need and value for young adults to earn some income. Our program expects a minimum commitment of 20-25 hours a week, with some weeks requiring more. Therefore, we support participants who would like to hold part-time jobs as long as it does not conflict with regular program commitments.

4. Can I bring a vehicle?

Yes. Resident Leaders are allowed to bring personal vehicles to campus. There is plenty of space at the house for residents to park their car.

5. When can I start?

The summer program begins May 24th. The 11 month program begins September 1- August 1. There are also semester options. Residents are able to request time off for personal reasons or family vacations with at least two weeks notice to the program director for approval.
